I think it's a fantastic idea! What with the England Supporters Band to complement all those Welsh male voices singing Men of Harlech, there wouldn't be any need to worry about the shocking performances on the pitch when all eyes and ears are focussed on the entertainment coming from the stands.

NO!!!! One chink of light that suggests we're thinking about this, and most FIFA members will be all over it like a rash, and before we know it we'll be playing as GB

That is what FIFA are aiming for and we. being the home country FAs, have resisted it. Unfortunately the Olympics and the GB team may have given them some hope and leeway to push for it.

I doubt merging with Wales is going to make any difference to our poor prospects of ever winning anything...

Plus Bale may not be competing for any national silverware but do you honestly think any of our players are either... All much of a muchness. The only difference is we may get a tiny bit further.

Plus if Wales joining England is just a way to give them a slightly stronger team (and wales are hardly a small country) will that see San Marino join Italy and other small countries merging with bigger countries.
