It was a very good presenation, and, yes, it did make me feel rather proud - quite unexpectedly. Very difficult to compare it, as I didn't hear most of the other presentations, and what I heard of the Spanish one, was obviusly not in English, so doesn't come across so well to me in translation.

My reservations are that, I would be very surprised if the officials have not already made up their minds, on their first bid and the second - I mean, they've been looking at these bids for months, if not years, so they would have formed an opinion well before a 1/2 speech, however good it was. Secondly, I always felt that politically, we seemed to be underdogs for it too - so it may not have mattered a jot what we said today.

I may have missed it, but did we mention at all in the presentation that we invented the game ?

Hats off to Eddie, though - a super job.
