And well done the American audience for being appreciative of a Brit.

For the first time ever.

That was just incredible, despite her opponent being poor on the day. Mental strength, serious groundstrokes and won the big points.

Underdog next and will be a slug fest! Annoying will likely be on very late.

That's pretty incredible from the young lady. I did worry for her, having seemingly struggled to cope with the pressure of playing on the big stage at Wimbledon*, that she might not have the mental steel that you need to succeed in what is often such a lonely, psychological game. But having just pulled off that performance and that victory at the US Open, on Arthur Ashe which is an absolutely monumental arena, it's clear the girl is made of sterner stuff than I gave her credit for.

*Not intended as a criticism - I recognise that most people, let alone aged 18 years old, suddenly thrust into the limelight in front of 20,000 people and millions watching around the world would struggle a bit with the mental demands of that situation.

His parents are Welsh and Scottish.
That's pretty British don't you reckon?

Seriously impressive tennis from Raducanu. Not only last night but that is now SEVEN matches in a row without dropping a set at the US Open (3 in qualifying and 4in the main draw) :clap2:
