Emma has been evicted from the Big Brother house, Endemol and Channel 4 have confirmed.

In a statement, the producers said:

"We don't think Emma is any more to blame for the events of Wednesday night than anyone else, but we believe this is the best course of action to ensure the welfare and safety of all the housemates, including Emma.

"The house is calm as all the other housemates appear to be working through their issues, but we're concerned that Emma's return might increase the risk of a repeat incident.

"Emma has accepted our decision."

Emma will follow "normal eviction procedures" and will be interviewed by Davina. There will not be a post-eviction press conference. No transmission date for the Davina interview was specified in the Channel 4 statement.

Emma will not be returning to the Big Brother house.

Big Brother appreciates that following last Wednesday's events, the group remaining in the house have resolved many of their issues. However, Big Brother is concerned that Emma's return may increase the risk of a repeat incident.

Big Brother does not think Emma is any more to blame for the events of Wednesday night than anyone else, but believes that this is the best course of action to ensure the welfare and safety of all the housemates.

Emma would like to pass on the following message... Hi everyone, love you loads. Hope to see you soon. Lots of love and snogs, Em

I just went to BB website and under Emma's name and picture it said GONE.

Now that seems to have been removed.

I loved the idea of putting Victor and Emma in the bedsit together - I think they would have come out as friends.

I think the BB production team are on eggshells with the police involvement though.

Yes I saw that. It was a psychologist who deals with prison riots!!!!!

I think it's a shame that BB has now got cold feet. It wasn't what I would call a particularly scary fight. - I think it will all be safe and boring now.
