Love Elphick he's a good player technically but he lacks pace and that will make him in the squad but not starting alot

I'd heard two rumours (and they are just rumours) that he was either being loaned out for the season or going to Oxford.

Whenever I've seen him outside football he's come across as a really nice intelligent bloke, but I do agree with peterward in as much as he isn't good enough for the Championship.
How do we know he isn't good enough for the Championship until he's been given a go? He might just step up to the next level - it looks as if Gus thinks that's a possibility worth having a small punt on.

I like his loyalty, but imho he won't cut it at championship level.

I agree, against Saints for example high ball caused him no end of grief. I agree that he can continue to make a good living in League 1, but IMHO no higher.

I think that he has at long last looked like he is listening and learning from Gus and at the moment is well ahead of Dunk in the pecking order but Gus does rate Dunk very highly as a player with potential, so Tommy needs to keep improving.

He's a hoof and head defender. His game is suited to League One. He is slow. His passing is generally poor. Sounds harsh I know, but the truth is he isn't a championship defender.

The reason he is still with us is because he has a year left on his contract.

Good for him. Nice one Tommy.

Classic case of a nice bloke, made the best of himself, and local.

But I really think he's not good enough for the next level up. It's not just his own play which is deficient, but it causes panic around him, e.g. Woking away, Colchester away, etc, etc. Championship forwards will have a field day.

Gus might have to take this hard decision, or at least not commit the Club.
It's not a charity, and the money might be better spent elsewhere.

Like it if he's on L1 money. Rather he was home on the bench or cover than playing in L1 but not one to pay top dollar. Feel he should be 4th choice and then Dunk should really sneak ahead of that too by xmas. We do need a new starter alongside Greer I feel as El Abd will be pukka off bench but however good he was I feel his game might have suited L1 more than Champ as though could do a job I think if teams studied him closely they'd find ways to attack him with Championship talent at their disposal.

He is still very young in the grander scheme of things. It can't be easy being thrown in every so often. Churlish to write him off at this stage. If anything, he possesses the mentality that we might need for our step above. Certainly a popular and hard working player.

He seems to be the sort of player that will bounce back from his injury and bounce back well. Definitely an asset in my humble opinion.

Good news for the Tommy & the club. Bad news for all the armchair coaches on here who don't rate him.
