A bit of conjecture here - but my guess would be midfield.
His best position, a good foil for the 'lighter' players around him, and Adams will encourage him to assert himself there.

despite still being paid until his current contract expires there fore having time to wait for something better, take your head out of your arse & accept that El-Abd obviously wants to stay & is obviously wanted by the club. Expect him to be in the starting line up alongside Thomson next season.
