Will never understand why he didnt play on Saturday
I guess because he isn't good enough / not ready to play in the PL.

We saw where he currently is with our own eyes. FH will have seen more

Having Baleba at centre back worked out. The question is now do we keep his there

I could be wrong but it wouldn't surprise me to see him go on loan in the Championship next season. Yes he made a poor mistake against Villa, but he's fit and ready and yet can't get ahead of us playing a midfielder as center half in his place. Not all transfers work out and I think sadly this one might well prove to be one that just doesn't, a bit like the Clark signing from Portsmouth.

I suspect a new experienced center half will be high up on the summer shopping list which is only likely to reduce his chances further.

I agree that a loan is most likely.

But we've seen he can perform in the Championship. It's the step up he needs to show he can make.

I think the best bet is that we loan him to a newly promoted team. Not Leeds of course. Burnley probably don't need a defender. Whoever comes up in the play offs would be ideal

Maybe he'll be sent to Coventry. Or maybe he'll be sent to Coventry.

Cashin isn't fit to lace Marcos Painters boots.
Think that's a bit harsh tbh.

Painter was a decent enough L1 defender, not a great championship one.

Cashin was captain at Derby and had some stand our performances for them.

Yes his lack of pace was badly exposed v Villa, that doesn't make him a bad defender, it makes him vulnerable to pace.

Maybe he's not quite PL level, but he's not as bad a defender really as a lot make out.

He was probably unfortunate as Villa have one of the paciest attacks around, so it was a bad game for a "first impression"

His passing was good , his defending on a few occasions was poor and his pace was not good. Could describe a number of current centre backs. Playing one game and people hanging him out to dry, including his manager who decided not to play him when we did not have any other CBs available.

100% this. I hate our fans sometimes. Maybe he'll be good enough, maybe he won't but we don't know after just a few minutes on the pitch. I can show you plenty of clips of Dunk, JPVH, Pervis etc looking equally hapless and slow. Worth at least trying to support him, considering everything his enthusiasm on the bench and after our wins is great to see. At least he can be bothered to acknowledge the fans unlike a certain wantaway striker who buggers off in a strop after every final whistle.
