When I first moved down from south London I ended up in Whitehawk one day so had a walk about. Seemed a lot nicer than most of the places I'd lived in south London.

Always felt safe walking about there, including at night, it wasn’t a bad place to live.
I met many decent people there and had very nice neighbours in both the houses I lived in.
