We could actually have a lead after the first innings

I've followed Sussex very closely for the past couple of seasons but i'm certainly no expert on the full squad. Who's likely to come in for Rana in the last game? I assume it would normally have been Kirtley but obviously he's at the T20's and with no Luke Wright either i assume the pace attack is looking mighty thin?

Chris Liddle I expect. He played in the first game of the season and has been taking a few wickets for the seconds.

So assuming we can knock over the last 2 within the next half hour or so after tea, what do you reckon we'll be happy defending? From the looks of the wicket takers today I reckon if we can set them 200 they'd do well to defend it on day 3/4 but if we can score 300 and set them around 250 i'd feel a bit more confident! Anyone think we need any more than that?

All out for 316 - a lead of 25

That is better than i was expecting after this mornings session

Miles better than expected now put some runs on the board and scuff the wicket up for the spinners
