What is wrong with that if every person had their DNA taken either at birth or at school now it would drastically increase the detection rate of crime. I have nothing aginst having my DNA put on a data base because I haven't committed a crime for which I could be found out.

Only one slight problem with that...

It has not yet been undisputably and verifiably proved that DNA is in fact unique person to person.

Additionally, what happens if theres a crime at a scene you've recently been to and they go and pull you in due to that evidence?

Only a pure police state would even have a permanent DNA database of people who've not been charged with crime. Oops, the UK already does, as they keep your sample permanently even if charges are entirely dropped...

A few different opinions here. The point about not taking drugs into pubs is a valid one but that job has been done for years by bouncers in clubs so why change it now. My two main problems with this are:

1) That the state is probing further and further into our private lives. As a human being I have the gift of free will, i.e anything that is physically possible at any given time I am able to do. So if I wanted to walk up and cave someones head in I can if I want, it's up to any society to establish boundries of what is and isn't acceptable behaviour. In my opinion it's the states job to educate people of these boundries and to police them when they are broken, NOT to physically enforce them like they are doing in this case.

2) The number of recreational drug users in the country at the moment. .http://www.drugscope.org.uk/druginfo/drugsearch/faq_template.asp?file=%5Cwip%5C11%5C1%5C2%5Chowmany.html
The figures in the link show just how many people are doing it these days, should all these people be turned into criminals? If the government wants to stop people doing drugs then they should try to stop the source of them, weather that be high level smugglers or dealers. On a personal level (without going into detail) I would class myself in this bracket. My main worry is that if they start doing tests outside clubs and prosecuting people for taking a couple of pills then it has the potential to ruin (my) lives. If I lost my job for doing something that an estimated 800,000 people do every weekend then i'd be pretty pissed off.

I dont really see that it matters what drugs people are on, unless they plan to drive home obviously. Each to their own.

I still stick by my post earlier. If people like Billy the Fish are worried about being caught it will stop the dealers dealing, due to the fact they have no customers (after all "If I lost my job for doing something that an estimated 800,000 people do every weekend then i'd be pretty pissed off"). Therefore, the problem is less of an issue.

Common place in London at Tube Stations.

Before you ask this has nothing to do with the terror threat, it started well before then.

I been given the once over by a sniffer dog at Camden Town and have seen it happening at Clapham.

They are targeting people who visit the areas to purchase drugs, not the dealers.

I believe they are starting a big operation at Camden again soon.

Camden is bit of a narcotics supermarket, but I do without a Cocker Spaniel sniffing round my privates when I'm just getting on the tube to go home.

Apparently they got a chart which shows which drugs affect the look/shape of your pupils, this is what someone told me anyway, surely it's BS?

No, it sounds about right.
