As is studied Sports Psychology and Sociology the best recomendation I can give you is to think about a time when you were high on confidence. Maybe a game you played really well or a time when you have achieved something really special. Visualise this and think about it when you are waiting to start your test. You and your examiner both know you are capable of passing or you would not have been put in for your test.

Good luck and am sure you will be fine. I passed on my 3rd test as did Nigel Mansell so do not be disheartened if you fail.

Good luck, only advice I would give is don't be cocky, think safety and mirror, signal then manouvre.

Just take as much time as you need to do everything (within reason), make everything you do smooth and obvious and hope for a good examiner. I was talking to mine about football whilst doing my test, which helped!

Put a glass of water on the dashboard and assure your driving instructor that you will be so smooth that you will not spill a drop. Then caress that car round every corner as if you are gliding your fingers along the silky curves of a young asian whore. With every press of the clutch, give a little gasp. When you accelerate, allow yourself a soft groan. And gently bite your bottom lip as you brake.

Good luck. Let us know how you get on.

I passed mine in September at age 29!!!
I never got round to it before but i was also nervous as hell.
Just take your time, if the instructor is chatty, talk as much as you can it really helps.
Good luck and hope you pass:) :) :)

Relax. The examiner wants you to pass too. Less paperwork.

Remember, it's just an easy version of one of your lessons - you won't do anything you haven't done many times before, and it will inevitably be a lot gentler than your latter journeys with your instructor.

i passed mine first time(17) because of the nerves. i was so cautious and i kept checking my mirrors all the time. in the end it was a few minors on hesitation...both at roundabouts just because i was so nervous and wanted a nice big gap. also just KEEP CHECKING THE SPEEDO especially in 30mph zone. its so easy to slowly drift ober that 30 line and then yoyr to late!

i know ive only been driving for under a year but everyone i know who has passed say the same thing. nervous is good.

And check your mirrors after doing anything. And always move your head to do it.

I've taken two and passed them both! (once in the UK and once in the States)

My advice would be to go out in the rush hour. I did both times and it did me no harm whatsoever

I agree with a lot of that - I was bricking it on my test but came through mainly because I made sure I checked everything several times. Must've been a nightmare to be stuck behind me that day, but never mind.

Not sure if your male or female. If your male best advice is to just take things easy and not to do things to quickly and dont worry too much if you think youve made a mistake - mistakes are tolerated, losing control of the vechicle isnt. If your female just offer him a blow job!!!

I had a great lesson before my first test...and failed on mirrors (*cough*bollox*cough*)

I had a terrible lesson before the second test...and passed..

I reckon a lot of it's about the test examiner. I had a well known twat (the chief tester) first time.

In other related news, one Paul McCarthy passed his test immediately before me!
