Now as much as I have enjoyed the post match drinks after the games in the north, this will only be suitable for a short while longer. As the temperature drops the nearer to Christmas, surely the west upper or lower concourse will be better when its the temp drops?? Sod standing in the cold.....my Harveys will get cold!

South West!
Does anyone else think that there needs to be more bars in North Stand? The queues will be even longer when they fill in the corners.

I'n not enjoying it at all! I sit in the north stand and after games I try to get a drink to wait for the queues to go down at the train station. All the other stands pouring into the north stand makes it even harder to get a drink than before! I looked at the queues after the Peterborough game and decided to queue up for a pint of Harveys at the mobile refilling points rather than the horrendous free for all at the TWO bars in the north stand. THREE times I queued up at those things and EVERY time I got 3-4 from the front they ran out! I ended up walking to the west stand lower (very nice btw I'd not been in there before) and getting a pint there before bringing it back to the north stand! I appreciate the club have responded to the bar queue problem in the north stand by putting in pie and beer points where the betting kiosks were going to be and having the guy walk about selling bottles of fosters, but two bars for 2,500 people?? I give up with going to the toilet at half time too . . .

I've only made it to the Donny match so far and I had to shoot straight off after. Was gutted when I realised how many people were hanging around, as I wanted to carry on the party. I'm hoping to be back for more games soon. Can people move around after the match? It's looking like I'll always be sitting in WSL but I fancy having a post match bevvy in the North Stand.

I was a bit unhappy at queueing twice for a vegetable pie and getting to the front to find out they had none whatsoever at the last game. Admittedly, me being unhappy about not filling my already bulging gut is hardly on a parallel with anyone in need of anything at all, but still, i was annoyed at the time. It's just a bugger to be a veggie and not being given the options needed to sate my appetite. A beer and a victory certainly settled my distress though. And no one always gets what they want and i have to not flounce around the North Stand happening to see flesh-gorgers enjoying their pastry treats.

As the original poster has stated, people have being going to the North stand (myself included from the WSU) as it is so much cooler there but once the temps drop I will stay at the WSU or WSL.

Ok, but the point made about using the other bars when the temp drops is a valid one.

Quick pint in the North Stand after the game, then we head up to the WSU for a couple of beers as the bars are a lot quieter and we enjoy giving it the 'were the north stand ....'

Then give it about 45 mins before we are normally given free pies that would otherwise be thrown in the bin.... Stumble to the train station..... Bobs your uncle.

Is that why I've seen a few people carrying 2 or more pies late after a game? I might have to get involved in the free pie action!

The club wants all concourses (except the North) closed by 6pm, and this largely is what has been happening. I went to the fairly empty East Stand concourse after the Peterborough game - one, because I hadn't been there, but two, because the North Stand concourse was heaving. By 6pm, the North was far more tolerable.

As regards warming up the area, I did mention this when I saw Richard Hebberd in the North Stand concourse, asking if heaters were going to be installed. He was of the opinion that there wouldn't need to be. No, really. So long as they shut the big exit door, that would help. That was a shockingly cold draught after the Peterborough game.

Why bother queuing at the ground??? The Swan Inn is a 5min walk away - nice, country-style pub with decent beer and a beer garden. Walk out the top part of the ground where the car park is,turn left and cross over the A27 then take the footpath up to the right and it's there! :drink::cheers:

Surely it will be even cooler in the North Stand when winter arrives.
