Just heard Dowie has left Charlton by mutual consent.

Maybe he can go back to Palace.

Charlton have announced they have parted company with manager Iain Dowie.
Dowie took over from long-standing boss Alan Curbishley at the start of the season and has only been in charge for 12 Premiership games.

But the Addicks have only won two league matches and are currently bottom of the table with eight points.

The former Crystal Palace boss did lead Charlton to the Carling Cup quarter-final this week but it was not enough to save his job.

12 games. Curbishley must have been there 12 years.

:D

I hope he doesn't want to watch us play Tranmere.

Apparantly it's already sold out.

and relegated them after a promotion? Maybe they think they're a big club but more likely they have seen thru Dowie's Emperor's clothes with one lucky promotion followed by a relegation, followed by a shit season followed by taking Charlton to the bottom

I just could'nt understand it when they appointed him. OK he got Palarse to the Prem but apart from that he's done nothing, what chance Magoo to Charlton?

about as much as Dowie going back to Palace.
Bit of a strange one for Dowie to leave so early

If Alan Curbishley has proved such a tough act to follow, God help whoever has to succeed Fergie at Man Utd.

Thought Simon Jordan's interview on Sky Sports News was quite revealing. He really blasted the Charlton board calling them "faceless and gutless" and said that whatever their differences, he still thought Dowie was a good young manager (at the same time giving Peter Taylor the dreaded 'vote of confidence')!

Curbishley favourite to get it back already on SSN :S

Someone has just said that Curbishley has already played it down though.
