I heard on the grapevine that Dowie didn't seem that keen on coming to Withdean, which would seem odd given Oldham's financial problems.

But then maybe he's already lined up for Palace??....... Kember looks almost certainly to be on his way now..

Shame. I was hoping they'd stick with him for the season! :)

I hope not.

What has happened to Palace, BR since they had such a good start to the season?

shocking lack of self belief
truth be told
2 seasons ago we only stayed up by winning our last 2 game
last season were safe with only 4 games to go
so we are only folowing the same trend.
plus
gray(only left sided player at the club)
thompson
akinbiyi(shame)
mullins,true class
have gone
the only player in was shippley who looks as big as butters
plus our main 2 center backs have been out all season?

still new manager, new start 30 games to go,you never know.

Great quote from Millwall chairman about those nice people in SE25.................

Kember fears for his job
Kember fears for his job
By Steve Stammers, Evening Standard
3 November 2003
Steve Kember fears he will be out of a job by tonight following Crystal Palace's 5-0 defeat at Wigan on Saturday.
The thrashing leaves Palace five places off the bottom of Division One with just one win in their past 13 matches.
Kember, who is due to have crisis talks at Selhurst Park with chairman Simon Jordan this afternoon, said: "I have to say that I fear the worst. I honestly have no idea what is happening at the moment but I am prepared for the worst. It is out of my hands."
Jordan has made his disappointment known and has insisted he will make changes if there is not an improvement.
Kember admitted that his team's performance at Wigan was unacceptable. "We were outplayed, outfought and outrun in the whole 90 minutes," he said.
And he is preparing to pay the price for Palace's dismal run.
Kember has had to operate under strict financial restraints and has been hit by injuries to key players. He also lost arguably his most valuable asset when Hayden Mullins moved to West Ham two weeks ago.
Kember added: "You expect some injuries but this has been worse than we could've expected."
If Kember does go, Palace have the potential to interest Tony Adams, who is known to be keen on a start in management.
Meanwhile, Millwall chairman Theo Paphitis has hit back at Palace after they criticised him for sacking Mark McGhee.
In a bizarre attack, Paphitis said: "The great thing about local rivalries is that when things are going pear-shaped at home, you can have a pop at your neighbour.
"Step forward our friends at Crippled Alice."
Paphitis was particularly incensed by the criticism of Lions' caretaker boss Dennis Wise.
"To slag off Dennis, a player they tried to sign, shows what a small-minded club they are. The accusation that I made a knee-jerk decision is coming from a club for whom 'knee' and 'jerk' should be interwoven into their club crest

Palace always scrape clear at the last minute, disappointingly. I'd love them to go down but Simon (nice sunglasses by the way) Jordan will just sack the manager every time they lose a few, and the temporary momentum caused by having a new boss saves their lame arses.

Every time.

Not true. He's stuck with Kember for longer than would seem fashionable and did the same with Francis. Having said that I now don't give Kember more than a week. Martin Hinshelwood's available BR, you lot were always calling him "Agent" after all.

I saw those sunglasses too. Hilarious. Presumably they are just black metal panels to block out the appalling view at "Smellhurst" (thanks for that one, Theo!)

Simon Jordan clearly fancies himself as one of the Men in Black.

The ones in the picture above are still not quite as hilarious as the pair he wore on Saturday.

They looked suspiciously like the ones which are usually advertised in the back pages of Sunday newspapers alongside hearing aids and Stannah Stairlifts, favoured by pensioners because they clip handily over their existing spectacles

:lolol:
