If we take him - and I hope we do - then I would like to see us make an ex gratia payment of about £50K, or 6 months wages. We don't need to, but if Oldham go bust before the end of the season we'll lose 3 points - and others won't (ie Sheff W). I'm not saying that our £50K will secure their status, but it would help.

Yorkie - the same could have been said for us several seaons back, with apparent overspending in the eighties etc.

We learned a lesson from that. Other clubs haven't.

Dick Knight fought hard to get a few extra bob out of Madjeski, why then should he give that to Oldham.

If we've just received £xxx thousand pounds compensation from Reading, how can it be money that we don't have.

That means nothing we spent thousands extra on Division 1 wages, and Public enquiries, where did that extra come from - not bottoms on seats at Withdean.

I think you will find like with the Zamora money it is all helping to fill in the debt as the board balances keeping us afloat financially, yet still help the team do the best they can and provide for Falmer. It is an unenvious job!

The reason that Oldham are in the manure is that they got themselves a despot chairman who promised them the earth and then lost interest when he realised just how much it was going to cost him.

Dowie is not 8under contract and OAFC are not to my knowledge a registered charity so, tough, no cash for them.
