I just find it amazing that in a match where the entire team was utter garbage for 90 minutes, someone see's fit to turn on the player who's not even played half an hour of League football yet. OK, Loft was far from spectacular, but I dunno what the hell you expect from a young lad who's been plucked from non-league and chucked into a shit Championship team.

I'm sure your comments will be of great help to the lad.

unlike you I didn't think the team was that bad yesterday. Hart, Fruity, Mcshane, Hinsh all had good games.

Tactically shit - yes
Lack of cutting edge and creativity from midfield - yes

but nothing new on these two fronts, but that's beside the point, from the short time he was on I feel I could tell from the reaction of the players and his disappointing contribution he will not make it. Gut feeling.

We don't do too well on players plucked from non league. Gary Hart is the only one that I can remember and he did come with a reputation of being a very good goalscorer at that level. He also joined us two divisions below where we are now.

Never seen Loft play but if a non league midfielder, apart from Henderson, was the best we could manage in the last transfer window we can't be suprised that we are slipping out of this league without showing any hope of battling our way out of it.

Hinsh gave him a right talking to and Butters, to name but one, was derermined not to give him the ball. David Lee flashed thru' my mind when he was eventually played in and I thought for such a skinny chap his redeeming feature might be his speed, but alas no.

I genuinely felt sorry for him, as The 2nd Division is a big stage to play, especially when making the step up from non-league, after all it's not his fault that he was selected to play out of his depth and it's the management in the broadest sense who should be called into question over the continuing stream of players being brought in to do a job, which they are not at this stage of their careers at any rate, cut out for.

agreed, I think Elphicks another example of this, you could tell after only a few minutes at Reading that he was not good enough and never would be and now look where he has ended up - non league football. Im sure Loft will do the full circle.

Can't talk about yesterday cos I didn't go, but based on watching him in the Reserve game against Reading, the trial match where he apparently did enough to earn a contract, I have to say I came to exactly the same conclusion as Dwayne.

(I suppose I should add some kind of traditional cop-out like 'did however show potential' or 'posed a physical threat', but frankly he did neither).

Time will tell.

Not great but then who was yesterday?

Can't be easy for a young lad making such a step up to come on and try and impose himself on the game.

Give him a few more games before you write the lad off...

I think Loft should be insulated from this criticism.

not at all, I believe what I'm saying and I'm there to be proved wrong. I won't be though I'm sure of that.

Would disagree with that. He came on the same time as Dodd, which was when most of our best stuff came down the right, through Dodd. As Loft was on the left, he didn't really get much of a chance, I remember thinking a couple of times, Loft was open but the ball wasn't played to him

Loft is appalling. He looked way out of his depth, no where near good enough for this level.

Looked cold yesterday needs Insulating

The whole team sounded like it needed something, let alone insulating. I listened on the radio and we sounded undeniably poor beyond belief.

On the commentary it sounded there were players far worse than Loft playing for us yesterday, and especially when the Hoops went to ten men we had no game plan.

And what would you have said if he'd scored that one at the end?

Not enough power on it?! Except that it flashed past the keeper who stood stranded in the middle of the goal?

He's 19, he's clearly not a world beater yet but he has potential!

He's attacking and not afraid to shoot and in my mind he did a lot more than frutos and carole did in 65mins!!!!!

Wanna blame someone? Blame your parents for the way you turned out.
