Interesting Fact:

The Wright Brothers were not (apparently) the first Powered Flight experts, there was a bloke in New Zealand who flew 50metres or something but crash landed instead of landing safely like the Wright duo.

FACT (supposedly)
Yeah, but all he did was jump off a building.

Interesting fact:

The Wright brothers first powered flight could take place in the space of the upper deck of the A380
No way. The Civil Aviation Authority would NEVER give clearance for that to happen. Its an utterly reckless and totally unworkable idea.

Fly on the A380 to Paris for only £80 return, or go nuts and travel Business Class for £280, also return! I'm seriously tempted!

We have just announced that our Airbus A380 will exceptionally operate on the London-Heathrow airport to Paris-Charles de Gaulle route for the very first time from Saturday, 12th June 2010 until Monday, 30th August 2010.

Air France will be the only airline operating an A380 on short haul flights. Therefore, customers will have a unique opportunity to experience flying on the world's largest aircraft this summer.

London to Paris from only £80 rtn

For this special event, we have launched very attractive fares from just £80 return including all taxes in Economy Class, and from just £280 return including all taxes in the Business Class cabin.

The Air France A380 will be assigned to flight numbers AF1981 (Departing London Heathrow, 12:50) and AF1980 (Departing Paris Charles de Gaulle, 10:05) during all Summer weekends from Saturday to Monday, plus all Fridays in July.

You do realise it's just a big plane right?

This isn't some exclusive special club you're going to join by flying on one, like with Concorde.

Unless you're a planespotter don't let anyone sell you that flying on an A380 is some kind of experience because it isn't. It just has a few more seats

Very tempted myself but Air bloody France?

I'll have to try and get over that I suppose.

i flew air france to cuba, and considering there was actual FRENCH PEOPLE on board, the food was appalling, i was expecting fine cuisine!

but they did have marvin gaye for me to listen to, and an episode of the sopranos to watch, so i wasn't complaining

To be fair, Orville was suffering from Bird Flu at the time of that prediction.

The 'sale price' has gone well - picking a random long w'end in October via busines class, only has few seats available, at a healthy £250 each way..

There's one 'small' flaw with this aircraft, it can only use airports that have been modified to accept it's size and capacity. A whole lot haven't and I would not be very keen at queuing up for my luggage and then Passport Control after flying on that.
