From the Guardian.

"North Wales police are to crack down on "bat crimes" - those who disturb the mammals or their roosts. Operation Bat follows pressure from conservationists worried by falling numbers.
Despite fines of up to £5,000 per bat dislodged, builders and developers were behind two-thirds of last year's 144 offences. But bat lovers say prosecutions and fines are only part of the solution, with 12 of the 16 species either endangered or vulnerable. The Bat Conservation Trust said developers would rather "budget-in the fines than save bats". But, said North Wales Chief Constable Richard Brunstorm, "bat crime is police business and will not be ignored,". The national bat helpline (08451300228), provides 24-hour cover, and says: "If you have a bat crisis, call us." "

Hope that doesn't give the anti-stadium brigade ideas.
