I've seen it, but would probably need to watch it a couple more times to understand what the hell its about.

I can sort of understand the whole infinite loop thing because he lives rather than dies at the beginning because he is led away from the house by the spirit bunny thing, however, this spirit seems to be the ghost of someone he later kills (forward in time). Then again, he only has the gun because the bunny guides him to it, as if the bunny wants to be killed/created - yet surely the spirit bunny shouldn't exist yet, because he hasn't been killed?!

Help! My head! :p

The version of the old lady's book on the DVD certainly helps explain some of the strange behavior of the characters later on. Plus the deleted scenes have a few clues.

Sadly I think you don't get these on the version that Virgin/HMV are (practically) giving away....

I found it very dissatisfying. I thought it immature, pseudo, and too self-conscious and 'clever-clever'.

I can't wait for the MTV generation to die of overdoses so I can enjoy an occasional decent film. Happily, I didn't pay to see donnie darko, a friend rented it.

Just for ygi, a cinema is obliged to refund your money up to a certain time of a film - I think it's half-way or less. That's good to use rather than sit through crap because you paid your money and feel you should (always a silly sentiment, but most people seem to live by it when paying to get in clubs and films and stuff).

It trys to be too clever , I think there is no right explantion to this
film.

oh come come

whilst herbie rides again was more art- house and suppassed "the lovebug,- "Goes bananas was the most groundbreaking ,thought provoking film of its era. I beleive narrowly missed out on winning at the cannes film festival.

The only Car ever to be nominated for Best actor at the oscars.

Thank CHRIST its not just me then.
Everyone in the world has raved about it, so I watched Lost In Translation the other night, and it took me four pints of Red Bull just to stay concious. I ended up switching it off, which is almost unheard of for me.

I kept waiting for something - anything - to happen. And I don't mean a surprise machine-gun attack by a Triad on a 250cc. Just something to happen, but it never did, and I found myself slowly losing the will to live. Then I realised I fancied a pickled onion, and gave up on it completely.

I must have been missing something. Deserves its own thread really.

Naah. Maybe not.

Lost in Translation is brilliant in a quiet cinema when you raelly get involved with Murray and Johansson's characters. It loses it's edge if watched with distractions.

In that case spose you could call it 'Lost with Distractions'.

I'm ever so sorry. I'm really tired and I want to go home for a nap .

Do not see "before Sunset" which in on at cinemas now.
i saw the first one "before Sunrise" which was out about 9 years ago, abit like lost in translation. nothing really happens.

i have never ever seen so many people walk out of the cinema during a film, about 60 people at the start ,by the end about 30 people were left!!!
