Does yesterday give us reasons to be more optimistic about the play-offs?

Five days. They will definitely travel to Sheffield on Thursday.

I think this is actually a huge factor in Friday's game. Sheffield Wednesday's last meaningful action was on April 30th against Cardiff. That's given their best players a full 13 days off to prepare for a home game. In comparison, since walking off the pitch at Middlesbrough, our guys will have just four days at home before they are heading up north again. And you would imagine they'd have a couple of days off, so that's possibly just two days together at the training ground to prepare. Sheffield Wednesday minds have been on nothing but our game for a fortnight.

It really isn't fair when you consider the positions the two teams finished in.

Totally get what you are saying but a long break is sometimes not a good thing, the sharpness can go. It's not a given that they will be in better shape than us although we will be running on adrenaline by the end of the game I imagine.
