well, you cant accuse him of conviction politcs from that. but then its been all about pandering to each and every interest group for a couple of decades now. its just a real shame we even talk about gay rights, as if they are somehow seperate and different.

Yes. I don't think Brown has got what it takes to inspire. Cameron wouldn't be too bad a substitute for old Gordon.
However, it has to be the weakest bunch of leaders for a long time. I do quite like Clegg. Sadly, we don't seem to have another John Smith in the pipeline - the best non-prime minister of my generation (and perhaps beyond).

the tories seem to be trying to lose votes at the moment.
The shadow housing minister Bob Neil last week alienated a whole profession, whilst the conservatives green paper on housing and planning has more holes in than any piece of policy/policy proposal I have ever read.

the morning after cameron announced his wife was pregnant I got a leaflet in the post with a pic on the front of him holding a baby....blatant electioneering and frankly pathetic - cynical timing taking electors for idiots........ he can piss right off

No. I definitely don't want this man running the country and can't imagine why anyone would. I think it's a bit like the many Londoners who regret voting out Ken because they wanted "a change" but they realise now what a disaster Boris is. You only realise how something is any good once it has gone.

Before I vote I thought it best to know how this would impact on my area of work or at least have an idea on what the other parties think.
Its a shame most people will be voting purely based on the views of the newspapers or because they fancy a change (as many have suggested on here). If people want change they should probably ask what they want to change before choosing a party to vote for. This could lead to a far more interesting political landscape!

i dont know, theres something about Hague and David Davies that suggest more rooted politics, and likewise theres Alan Johnson on Labours side. they all seem more like political leaders of old that might have their own convictions and follow through with them while bringing opponents along too (unlike an Ed Balls type who would wind people up too much).
theres an irony in there if you think the local party knew anything the week before, to have them leaflets printed and distributed.
