No chance. Hurzeler will be sacked at the end of the season.

Why?

No chance Tony will stand for drawing against the bottom four in the league. That dropped 8 points would have put us in Europe.
Friendly advice, for your own good, do not hold your breath.

As a side not, he is VERY happy with The Terrace.

We were beyond shit against the bottom clubs under Potter so I doubt that would factor into his decision making

For what it’s worth, I think TB will be a little unhappy with his big spend last summer. None of them are awful, and all have potential but aside from Georgi and the odd highlight from Minteh, i think he might be a little underwhelmed with their showings thus far.
FH is very up and down and so will no doubt be given time but imho, TB might have expected just a bit more this season

Agree to some extent but Tony doesn’t seem to want to change managers mid season.
If he thinks FH has dropped short of expectations then I expect he’d pull the trigger at the end of this season to allow a new coach the pre season period to ingrain his plans.
I can’t see him doing it though as he has invested a lot into FH with the recruitment of Daniel Niedzkowski and players like Gruda and Stefano Tzimas who FH seemed to have pushed for.
He’ll get next season and looking on the bright side I’d like to think we can’t be this unlucky again with injuries.
On a less optimistic note, falling short of European football will mean we are less likely to be able to retain JP, Mitoma, Baleba and JPVH.
I’ve said it before and so apologies for repeating myself, but we do have a ready made replacement in Liam Rosenior.
Last sentence sounds good with Liam Rosenior. He'd be a great fit.

The way he was talking at Cheltenham, I think he was looking to go further in the cup , and a strong finish in the league
It’s his club so he can say what he likes but TBH I wish he hadn’t, that statement led to unnecessary headlines and expectations. The “9 cup finals” was not needed either, but I think that was FH.

Similar to Steeley on a talk sport with Jim and Simon a few weeks ago. The " was talking to the skipper(Dunky) and saying we want some of that(Newcastle winning Carabao Cup) and we've got a chance to this season along with a top 4/5 finish". Since then it's gone belly up!

He obviously watches every game and I expect is as pissed off as us supporters in the lack of effort at times.
I bet he works long hours, like some of us and can't understand the players being so casual in games.

Is this Fabs excuse Potter couldn’t beat the shit sides so he gets a pass?
No

I was responding to a post saying that he'd get sacked because of how poor we are against the bottom sides.

My point being that this isn't new so it's unlikely that it would be the sole reason for sacking him

The two worst sides in the PL looked the more likely to win in both second halves.
Missing chances in the first half doesn’t excuse the second half displays.
I still can’t get over playing our best midfielder in defence that was the final nail in the coffin. It actually cost us the game.

Posted this in another thread on our record against the bottom 3. We almost always struggle to beat the shit sides, with no manager having a good record.

In the 22/23 season Potter was in charge for 2 wins against the bottom 3 so RDZ’s record in that season was 2 wins 2 draws 0 defeats and 8/12.

By manager the overall records are:

Hughton
P12 W5 D3 L4 18/36. 1.5 ppg

Potter
P20 W7 D9 L4 30/60. 1.5 ppg

RDZ
P10 W4 D5 L1 17/30. 1.7 ppg

Hurzeler
P6 W2 D4 L0. 10/18. 1.67 ppg

We should be right up there not floundering around in mid table. Far to many in game blunders by the manager. Leicester x 2, Wolves x 1, Southampton x 1, Forest x 1.
That’s 10 extra points pissed away due to inexperience and terrible subs. We should be top 4.
Do you think we should be top 4 based on where we’ve lost points or based on our squad?

If the former then credit has to also be given for where we have won points. Would you be happier if we had the 10 points you listed but had not got any points from Arsenal twice, Newcastle away and Man City home and drawn with Chelsea at home (thus losing us 10 points)?

If the latter, then yes we are definitely not close to matching that.

Nobody thinks they do. The question is what do “we” think he is thinking. It’s an opinion on what we think his thoughts might be, not knowledge of what they actually are.
I know for a fact that he isn't swinging from the chandelier.

The squad is decent TB has put his money in no complaints.
When I read people saying I wouldn’t except less than £80m for Pedro or Baleba or whoever it might be then we have top draw players correct?
We can’t have it both ways.
Whatever way you look at it this season we have under performed and IMO it’s because we don’t have a structure to our game and that’s on the manager.

With Rutter out how we could do with the likes of Enciso to fill that gap he just had to be patient bowing to the player was a bit small time we spent to achieve squad depth and then loaned players out leaving us short and in the same position as last season.
As others have said I don’t get the Cashin deal we needed a CB ready to step in, not one that isn’t trusted, we would have been better off with quality loan for the rest of the season.
