Do you like Christmas?

I am not a massive fan to be honest.

I enjoy the food but find the rest a bit false and over rated.

When I was younger I used to love it, it was my favourite time of the year. Since my parents split it's been a bit strange, I don't really look forward to it all now.

Being 30 now and not having any kids I dont really get into the Xmas thing, it actually feels like a big waste of cash for the sake of consumerism.

I can understand the appeal if you have children though.

Lots of hassle usually but this year I don't have to organise any Christmas drama productions and my family is coming up here for Christmas which means it will be more interesting and we have the day on OUR terms. ie eating late, going to the pub and drinking. No sitting around on our arses and watching only fools and horses or some crappy Poirot film. Quite like to celebrate Christmas for what it is however, but the tacky side of it always gets in the way.

I love it and I much prefer Christmas Eve to New Years Eve. It just seems on Christmas Eve everyone is more happy and up for a good time as Christmas Day is a bit different and always good. New Years Eve is just another night out really.

Christmas Day is fantastic, after sorting the presents out it is down the boozer for lunch-time and back in time for a decent dinner. Then just veg in front of the TV dinking loads and eating everything from crisps, nuts, chocolate, etc until the evening when the cold turkey & bacon along with the cheese and biscuits make an appearance. There is no other day where I can eat and drink so much and not feel bad for it.

After a nights sleep it is up in time to make it to the inevitable football match on Boxing Day.

Love Christmas, me.

I love it, especially this year cos it means I get to see my family and all my friends back in GOSBTS - though at the same time it's gonna be weird not seeing all the guys here at uni for a month.

For some reason I have an image of Christmas shopping in Churchill Square. It's dark and cold outside, but inside its warm and light, with decorations, a massive tree and is bustling with people. I don't know why, but I'm actually looking forward to it most for this reason i think.

Make no mistake, Christmas is GREAT

God I never properly thought about it like that before. I was always thinking New Year's Eve was the one to get excited about, but f*** that, you're right it's always the same and it's just another drunken night out.

But Christmas just means feasting and being sloth-like for a couple of days, and it being not just welcomed but positively encouraged.

I have yet to find a better excuse for spending days sloshed off my trolley, away from work, enjoying food like the Romans did than 'oh go on, it's Christmas'.

Easy as you like, Christmas, for whatever it may mean, remains a damned fine time generaly speaking

The best part about Christmas is getting out to a match on Boxing Day. Not going to the Albion this year but could be tempted by a non league game. Who's playing?
