Just had a look at @Hiney 's site - superb work fella!

FWIW here's the cover of my first one (albeit bought at a later date). I was four and a half, and Brighton winning 7-1 gave me unrealistic expectations that this was what life as a Brighton fan would be! That was quickly nipped in the bud. :lolol:

As Hiney said, it's SO different having something physical as a memento of something. It was a life-defining event for me...

I have not bought any since being at Withdean, i felt every little helps back then. I feel what do they offer more than North stand chat?

IMHO the further back in time you go, the more the adverts in the programme are the main source of interest for a bygone era

Very true but there’s also some poignant things like, 1938-39, seeing the names of the players and thinking ‘you poor sods, you’ve no idea what’s about to happen’. Collectors in years to come may think similar to the 2019-20 season with covid.

The TInterweb has basically rendered the whole thing an historical document before you've left home on the day. . .

old programs (like old motorsport mags, or 'vintage car porn' as its sometimes refered to) are fab though.

I think it would great if the club could produce a slimmed down version similar to those from days gone by. I think buying a programme is a part of the match day ritual but I just want a souvenir of the day and for it to fit in my pocket. I much prefer non league programmes because they tend to fulfil those criteria.

Buy every game, home and away (except West Ham where I couldn't find any). Tbh I don't read them often so no idea why I do it!

My dad discovered that one of the coats the club sells (the Europa League one I think) has an inside pocket that is almost the exact right size for a programme, but maybe an inch too narrow. Feels like they've missing a trick

Does that relegate it to a League Two retail department

I buy them for historic games (Promotion game, first PL game, FA Cup semis, Europa games) but not generally
