Do you boycott forfars

Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
I used to lunch in Forfars a fair bit when I was younger. They even had the audacity to bake me an Albion cake for my birthday. I steer well clear of them nowadays and would encourage all to do the same. They will never have my custom again, unless the company were to be sold.

Another boycotter here. I may shop at the Goldstone Retail Park but I do have SOME standards.

Don't live anywhere near Sussex so I can't involve myself in the Forfar boycott...but if it makes anyone feel any better I promise not to go anywhere near the Scottish town with the same name. I still mutter obscenities if I see a shop or truck bearing the F-word...can't see that ever changing, too much bad blood.

I only boycott Forfars for the same reason I boycott Greggs. It sells seriously greasy nasty crap, and the inside of the shop is full of chav fourteen year old mums wiv push-chairs and fat grans and no discernable queueing system.

Now that is so accurate it is scary Forfars food is really nasty and i would only eat it if the Cutress family donated say £50 million to the Albion :lolol:

i walked it to work to day with a forfars bag and sat down to eat my food
when my boss told me to get out the office because forfars is the satin for
brighton and hove albion i told him dont be stupid and that he is proble the
only one boycotting them. so i would like to know how many bha fans are really boycotting forfars.

This is really poorly written first post if you don't mind me saying.
You made an awful error right there in the first line......

.......forfars is not "food".

Yes I boycott them, frankly the standard of their cheese straws had fallen anyway so was glad to.

Try and avoid Forfars whenever I can, here in the village we have budgens and in hurstpierpoint we have truffles, which is much nicer!

Archer no longer owns Focus,... it was sold for £1 last year.

I USED TO shop at forfarce (or is it 'fourfaced') quite often.

When I started to boycott them though, I realised that by comparison there are BETTER purveyors of loaf and baked products, but also healthier ones.

One good place has been Truffles, I've liked all the stuff I've bought from them. They are QUALITY, so even less than missing forfars I have done myself a favour and discovered superior product elsewhere!

Agh, I've been fixtured, in the same minute as my post.

The delights of Truffles are obviously not a secret then.

Incidentally, there IS a forfars down Trafalgar St. - but for interested parties, about 100 yards up towards the station and just past the Nelson, there's a FINE baker's shop. For superior fruit flans and tarts they are the nazz!

Lancing, just N of the station on the E side of the road.

Henfield, centre of the main street through the town, on the W side.

Steyning high street N side, central to the town.

Incidentally, they seem to have a restaurant area in which to sit too - so you can enjoy a cuppa or a proper meal before your cream pastry or chocolate brownie. They also make decent pies, and a 'croissant pizza' which I can recommend.

And many more shops other than the above. Take their survey for a free sausage roll, and 'About Us' mentions the towns they're in. http://www.trufflesbakeryltd.co.uk/

Others in Brighton can be found here; bakery loc: Trafalgar St, Brighton, East Sussex BN1 - Google Maps

as wife to the manager in question and as i was on the phone to him at the time i can slightly sympathise with you - especially as when our son (who i would like to point out is only 4) really wanted a cake and forfars was the only bakery locally i got him one from there - the grief i got when the aforementioned manager returned home was unreal - i too am now banned from forfars!!!!
