Brighton. NOT KEMPTOWN!
I don't know. Why does Rupert The Bear wear checked trousers?

Cheshire Cat

The most curious thing..
Only semi trousered but still.....

Not cheap at £165 just for the shorts.

MADE-TO-ORDER ITEM.

Each piece is made-to-order in London, click here for current production timelines.

This is our third house-designed print from original hand-painted artwork, inspired by the striped beach-huts of Brighton (on the UK south-coast), where Scott spent his teens. Using a supple rayon-like 100% bamboo fabric, find tones of rich yolky sun yellow, off-white and a mix of brown and the iconic Brighton teal stripes across it.

Also available with matching shirt for the full 2pc set.

FIT
These shorts are made from a supple rayon-like 100% bamboo fabric. Easy fitting, with 2 side and 1 rear pockets. Making use of an elasticated waist, these shorts are to be worn in line with your belly-button. Please take a measurement there to find your size.

Looking for something to style under your shirt? Wear with our perforated vest for the full look.

SIZING
Scott wears a size 32 inch but there is room for stretch due to the elasticated waist.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Dry-clean (preferable) or cool machine wash (possible) and air dry - lingerie/delicate cycle due to the printed dyes.

Made in London from 100% bamboo - naturally light and breathable, drapey and doesn't crease easily.

Please note, as these are made-to-order we do not accept returns or offer refunds.

I quite fancy some colourful strides (although not the golfing type ones - I have some taste and self-respect, FFS!) but where the hell do you buy them? ASDA or Tesco? Nope - not in any Tesco or ASDA I've been in anyway. Marks and Sparks? Nope. Peacocks, Primark, TK Max? - no, not a glimmer of anything slightly out of the ordinary. Various hues of blue denims, blacks, greys, khaki/greenish things, even camouflage - but anything resembling Portillo pants? Not a chance!

For a ‘cheap’ knock off, try Roderick Charles. For example:

If you want to match MP exactly, do what he does: bespoke from Volpe.

Yep, really.

I wasn't thinking of going that far!

(Nor was I thinking of spending at least five times more than I've ever paid for a pair of kecks!)

Wouldn’t get much change from a grand for a bespoke pair from Volpe.

Appalling taste in trousers costs money.
