Oh PLEASE. I do not buy this. These players are on £ 4k upwards a week to play Sport, to kick a bit of Leather around a park 1-2 times a week, to have 4 training sessions a week ending at lunchtime and the rest of the time to themselves driving around in nice cars and living in nice properties. Diddums if they don't like it. They live a very privileged existance especially compared with many people at the moment and I certainly doubt Ashley Barnes or Ryan Harley will be deciding whether to eat or keep the heating on this Winter. Absolute poppycock.

They dont just play football and train thats a complete myth

I would have thought that 100% of the players have viewed this forum at some point mainly so after a good performance.
I have often heard about pro players buying every single one of the morning papers the next day after a having a good game to view match reports.
I doubt they would give it a 2nd glance otherwise as negativity breeds negativity.
There is a lot of drivel on here but one thing for sure is that fans give honest and frank appraisals of players and honesty is what is important.

If I was a player and read some of things on written on here, I wouldn't take a blind bit of notice because 99.99% of them are written by ill-informed, gobby, semi-literate teenage wankers who haven't got a f***ing clue about the professional game.

Sounds like you're still getting a real buzz out of this Moderating lark, H. :lolol:

Just curious given so many threads either berate, give positive raps or simply talk about the general health of the club and team.

I would have thought they did and give themselves the opportunity to reflect on some of the more sensible posts, as I think there are plenty of good views aired here.

Has it been asked before? - just wondering

I hope not...

The abuse Chris Wood got, and he was 19 and scored goals in an all conquering team. This year looking how weak physically our forward line is and comparing that with him a year older, physically imposing and banging goals in at championship level...

Sums it up really...

Imagine if your were Casper, Barnes or Painter, would it demotivate you or would it have the opposite effect? Any player that did look in would think we are proper cvnts!

Why should they think we're a bunch of Cvnts? The fans are the club are'nt they? they get paid enough, and would be naive to not expect critisism when they play shit..imo. Players come and go, we're here for life. As long as it doesn't go too far, critisism on here is fair enough, they get praise when they play well too don't they? To answer the OP'squestion, i think some do have a nose on here for sure!

well, you've hardly lived a life of poverty and starvation and yet you've, on various occassions, got so offended by stuff on here you've 'flounced'. Once because of jokes about a f***ing horse.

They are still normal people. Some of the abuse dished out goes beyond constructive if you ask me I don't care how much money they earn.

Oh and if it's so easy. Why didn't you do it?

That post make absolutely no sense whatsoever and completely misses the point, and do I know you ?, as you seem to think you know me and my personal financial circumstances very well.

So if you were constantly being derided in your job by lots of your clients, many of which may have never seen you actually at work but read gossip and slander online you would be happy and laugh it off because its a part of the job you do or is there some sort of wage cut off point in which that negative behaviour becomes acceptable or not.

Would someone who appears in a film not try to find out what people thought about it and their role so why shouldn't footballers try to find out what people think of them.

If their motivation is to play well for the club and the fans but then if they find that they are constantly being slated as not up to the job or whatever, don't you think that will affect them and may make them question the amount of effort they put in and could start just going through the motions?

Alternatively it could add pressure to a player knowing that they are unpopular and mean that they are worried about making a mistake (eg. Ankergren and being criticised for his punching, next time he may not come off his line to try to clear a cross because he may get criticised for punching again so stays on his line which might result in a chance or goal for the opponents. Alternatively, if they are not under pressure and no one is questioning their performances and decision making, he may come out and make that vital punch which prevents a goal or similar could be said of Dicker, he may play it safe instead of doing a risky pass which, if it comes off, could lead to a goal)

Confidence is a massive part of the game and to get the best from a player they need to feel relaxed, confident and not under pressure (why do so many cup finals end up as poor games to watch - answer = under pressure and worried about making mistakes that cost the game) Constant sniping by some fans after 1 bad performance or unjustified when their stats are analysed does nothing to aid the side in its quest to win as many games as they can

One of the best posts on NSC i've ever read!

I'd swap with Ankergren & Harley for a week, but would they swap with me? no! (even though i have a well paid office job).

Ankergren and Harley need to sort it out sharpish! 4K a week to play shit? if i didnt perform for a whole week at work i'd be on performance plans, disciplines and eventually get sacked! so any moaning footballer can f*** off!

Yes support them when they are on the field, but off the field people can and will say what they want about their performances. We help pay their wages!

I never hear any1 slag CMS or Bridcutt off. Why? because they bloody put in a shift and earn their money! its not just about scoring goals, making killer passes and brilliant saves, its also about showing you care who you work for and making sure you put some effort in! No1 can fault someone who gives 100% and some of our players are slacking on the effort front.

my point was, there are many people in the world in a far worse situation than you or I. Does that mean we can't complain about being bored or occasionally mess up in our jobs? Does it give people the right to call us useless c#nts or the like? Personally I don't think it does. I think some of the stuff posted about our players goes too far.

you don't need 'the right' to call anyone anything. its only an opinion at the end of the day! if you messed up with your job though over and over like harley and ankergren do then you may be getting some negative feedback thrown your way yes!

I reckon you're useless at your job!

....

p.s. what do you do btw? lol!
