I just wondered where other disabled fans will be sitting next season, and how many other disabled supporters post on here? Another question I have is there still a Brighton disabled supporters group? I have tried to find a website or any info, but to no avail.

Our disabled supporters will be in the front of the family stand, the east.

You need to be looking into the multi award winning, and internationally recognised, Albion In The Community Scheme.

Thank you guy's, I found an email address on the Albion in the community section of the site, but never got an answer back, so I thought that maybe there was no longer a disabled supporters group. I am fairly new to all this sort of thing as I have only been disabled a short while, and never had to deal with anything like this. So thanks, I appreciate the links.

I've booked my season ticket in the North Stand disabled section, I cant see it being the best of views being at pitch side but there should be a good atmosphere.

The Albion constantly say that there isn't a bad view in the house. They have by all accounts planned the disabled facilities meticulously and thrown money and resources at it. I think your comment is a bit disingenuous frankly British Bulldog.

They're not likely to say anything other than that really are they, Still look on the bright side I'll get a good view of the action at one end of the pitch.

You are never going to have a great view at pitchside at any stadium are you? The view will still be good as you will be closer to the action than they you are at the moment but it wont be great.

I understand that they really done their homework re disabled supporters, and whilst I know everybody wants to be treated the same, but by the same token, I also realise that there are a lot of factors to consider with placement of wheelchairs and such. The obvious one being health and safety. evacuation etc... I have been to a few different stadia, that you have no choice, you sit at pitch level with rival supporters and if you don't like it tough. At least I had the choice, and decided to sit in the South West corner in an elevated position. I am looking forward to it so much. I lost touch with so many Albion friends due to my illness, and I am excited by the fact that I can be reunited with them again, and make new friends too.

Listen to yourself. What a miserable bastard you are today. Is it not possible that they have thought about disabled supporters?

Look, he knows A LOT more about this subject than you do. As do I. Even BODS agree the Albion could and should have done more for disabled fans than the AMEX has provided. Please don't spout off until you've done your research, it's easy to when you're able-bodied, and all of this was discussed at length at the turn of the year. Be under no illusions, the club have not exactly covered themselves in glory re: this matter.

I stand corrected Portlock. And I apologise if my comments were insensitive. I didn't read the other (very lengthy) thread, so should probably have avoided straying into these murky waters.

Getting back on track, I'll be in the North stand, as thankfully I'm not wheelchair bound.

Will all the wheelchair spaces be sold to season ticket holders or will any be available to those who will only be able to attend on a less regular basis?

The club have been superb about a friends situation, she is at the moment ambient disabled but her condition worsens so the likelyhood of a wheelchair in the near future is a distinct possibility, we explained this at the presentation and were reassured that if we do buy a seat in the north stand as a ambient disabled she would be found a spot to see the games if the wheelchair becomes nessasary during the season .

Still very concerned about ambulant disabled issues at the amex & not convinced that all has been done that could have been (nor the issues understood), but would be very happy to be corrected. We have our tickets but, at the moment don't have a clue as to how we will get there.

Pitchside seating

According to the forces that be, there is nothing wrong with these seats at all. Even those that are by the away supporters, we are told are as good as any in the stadium.

Clearly this nonsense, and is an insult to our intelligence. The reason for this justification by the board, is so that they can charge supporters full price.

If they conceeded at any point that the limited and restricted viewing positions offered to disabled supporters at Falmer, were just that, they would have to offer a reduction in price.

The organisation for Albion's disabled supporters is BODS. For months now, the executives at the Albion have been telling the world and his wife, that there are no problems for disabled supporters at Falmer.

I beg to differ. Of the problems first highlighted on this forum back in January, to my knowledge none have been resolved.

Sadly, we only number about 100 supporters amongst a crowd of 22500. How loud do you think our voice is, which is sadly why issues such as access, car parking, viewing restrictions and all the others are still outstanding with just weeks to the first ramp up event.

Hopefully by November, they may get round to revisiting our problems!!

In suggest that you (BODS?) now these concerns directly with Building Control at B&HCC? They are responsible for ensuring that the stadium complies with the legislative requirements for the disabled.
