Worthing
I’ve met Dena and she is a smashing girl. My son raced in a 60m before her at a low key meet at Windsor/Eton/Slough last year. She’s happy to race anywhere during the winter as she prepares. Just hope she can go one better in the 200

I do hope you said her name correctly

Jon Ridgeon, IAAF CEO on the BBC now trying to justify the crowds. The bollocks includes....

- Well over 50% of tickets have been sold (that's after they've reduced the capacity of the stadium by 50% or so)
- People have to go to work the next day, so they go home before the finals which are on late due to TV audiences
- There's some sort of blockade on stopping people getting there

Gabby Logan giving him quite a hard time in fairness.

Just from memory, the Eugene thing, there were no other interested bidders, am I right? Still a conflict there nonetheless

I’m more inclined to view him as an honest but hapless figurehead, unable to stop a juggernaut of corruption and doping and fight his way of the mire of corporate and national self interest of powerful stakeholders rather than a Blatter / Platini blatantly on the take type

I’ll defend the bloke no further. Time for someone else to have a turn. As with all sports, the best administrator would probably be someone who has never contemplated becoming an administrator.

Through work, I've met Coe quite a few times. In my experience he's a horrible human being.

I've worked with Ridgeon many times more, and he is, in my experience, a decent guy. Not that it makes his defense of the above SHAMBLES any better.

Gabby has given me a hard time once or twice to be fair

They appear to have bussed in rentacrowd tonight. Clearly, some of the migrant population has been given some time off the tools in exchange for a free ticket. Health and safety related deaths can wait till tomorrow.

Really feel sorry for the Athletes with the empty seats, the marathon 50% drop out due to the heat. The event is almost a month later than usual plus a silly o'clock for the heat. International spectators go to these event for the sport, sightseeing, and socialising eating and drinking for which Doha provides none of. A foreseen poorly arranged destination that all can be seen by everyone except the corrupt organisers, 2022 WC can go and **** itself (it will **** the domestic season up in many football playing nations...

Looks like there's AT LEAST 40 people in the stadium to cheer them on in the 200m final.

Hope she wins this - the commentators seem dangerously close to making it sound signed, sealed and delivered though.

So sad she won in an empty stadium. Take the press out and the attendance was Priestfield esq. But oil can buy you anything as we know, regardless of the insanity of hosting sports tournaments in deserts environments.
