Not Lewes
I don't think Danny would sit on the bench at Sheffield United. Warnock has been moaning for ages that he needs a new centre-half, and he will be looking to sign somebody who can go straight in the team, and I think he could.

I'd be very surprised if he was still an Albion player come Boxing Day.

So whatever happens in the long term what about Friday who will replace him?

Hinshelwood & Virgo in the centre of defence and Knight/McCammon up front?

Cullip is one of the few players we've got who could probably hold his own in a decent, promotion-chasing side. If he doesn't go now he'll probably be asking himself "What if" for the rest of his career.

The best he can hope for with the Albion is CCC football until Falmer is built in 2007, at worst he could end up in a lower division and on the wrong side of 30.

You couldn't blame him for going to a side like Sheff Utd / Reading / Millwall and getting a decent wedge and guaranteed CCC football.

If was looking for one last payday (and who could blame him) surely he would be better off waiting until the end of the season and going on a Bosman which would give him more chance of a bigger signing on fee.

It could be that he his honest ehough to have decided it is time for a move and with such a potentially good move on the cards, sees the transfer fee as a way of paying us back in some small way.
