I was with my son (9) down the front of the East.
About 15 mins into the second half I suggested we try finding a couple of empty seats further back.
We found four empties on the front row of the 1901 and sat down. A steward who was stood close by didn't bat an eyelid.
A lady & gentleman behind us, however, took exception & asked if we had tickets. We were soaked & it was still lashing down. I was honest with them & told them where we should be & why we'd moved back.
The gentleman then called the steward over with the words "these two shouldn't be here".
To his credit the steward did manage to find us two seats a bit further down, in the dry.

Sorry to hear that . Seems a bit ridiculous if they were empty. I have always thought the East 1901 was a bit strange. There is certainly no viewing advantage. So why not let non members use the seats in this kind of situation.

Too right. Why should they have to sit in proximity to lower class scum?

You should have sparked them both out.

You should have insinuated, in no uncertain terms, that his mother was of questionable parentage and his father used to earn a crust by noshing off sailors underneath the pier. As for the lady, well, she's obviously a slaaaaaaag!
