No, I didn’t boo, but I didn’t clap them off either.
Worse than that. I never got out of my seat, nor clapped (save once*) for the entire game. Not even when we went in front. Twice. I was that sure that they would at least equalise (twice) it just didn’t seem worth the effort to recognise the temporary situation. God’s truth. A really weird, and now I look back on it, deeply depressing place to be.
I was 100% convinced the team would let us down.
*The one exception? I clapped Baleba’s wonderful pass through their midfield, out to the left in the first half.

I sympathise. Everyone could predict yesterday’s game, and that’s a real concern.

Yup. It felt very predictable and the second half was pony.
Still, I didn’t boo. By definition a supporter doesn’t do that. It’s a bit counter intuitive.

In 63 seasons of watching the Albion, I have never booed the team off the pitch ( even when we lost 0-4 to Walton and Hersham and 2-8 to Bristol Rovers).
The players know when they have underperformed, they don't need booing to tell them.

Like you, I didn't clap them off either. I normally do after a defeat, but not in a game like yesterday's.
I've never booed Brighton, even in games when we're been awful, but paying supporters can make their own choices I guess. I seem to remember that when we were REALLY bad there was more of a tendency to laugh and make up silly chants than to boo.
Your comment made me reflect that I've watched three Brighton goals this season without getting off my seat. The goal in the 3-1 home defeat to Palace and both of yesterday's penalties.

It’s just a human emotion being expressed and helps people deal with frustration. I couldn’t give a shit if someone chooses to boo or not really. Brighton fans don’t have a habit of doing so without reason. Players aren’t so fragile to be affected by. It’s all part of the matchday experience. All forgotten by the next outing.
I’ve never booed anything, the concept is bizarre. If I was that disgruntled i’d normally shout out an expletive I.e that was fuckin shit! Sort it out for fucks sake! and so on.

It’s not that they don’t know, it’s that at times, it feels like they don’t particularly care because they are in such a privileged position. They’ll still pick up their £60k + salary, and then when their contract is finishing, get a signing bonus or go somewhere that pays more money……
At the Goldstone, there was frequent booing, particularly from the West stand. I think some of those players cared a lot more than our current crop.
Does booing have an impact, perhaps/more likely perhaps not, but they need to know that there is an expected standard and level of effort and yesterday the majority failed on both counts.

I think the majority of fans went yesterday looking for a win to get us to 50pts and European fringe. There was an expectation level. The fans hadn't given up.

Not from me. I sort of expected the result and whilst very frustrated by it , I just felt it was wrong to boo.
True, we are now the club with the 14th biggest budget in the Premier League

No (though it was deserved), but I'm increasingly surprised by the standing ovation our players seem to get from half the crowd when being subbed, no matter the standard of their performance.

We must be slightly higher than that by now based on recent finishes and player sales. Wasn't we like 14th under CH when we first came up?
Either way, still amazing.
Certainly didn't boo. Never have, never will. But applauding? What the hell was there to applaud? Some individual moments of really good football, but overall mostly rubbish. And as it's a team game I think at the end if you applaud you're applauding the team and as a team no applause was justified.
