it appears we dont need them after all we now have mid season season tickets on sale and allow away fans into the home end as we cant fill it with Albion fans, oh and apparently theres no difficulty in getting0 tickets for games at Withdean so silent doesnt wanna get these seats in and se ethem empty hardly helps his pipe dream of falmer does it? Oh and why have you been away you cant be much of a Albion fan can you? (just joking!)

Insider never said that "a decision" was due.

What he did say was :-

"Regards the new seats, there will be an annoucement on this very soon - probably next week. I can't really say any more than that, but Martin Perry and co are working very hard on this (along with Falmer)."

The position as far as a "decision" is concerned is that the Council gave planning permission for the extra seats ages ago, subject to a park & ride arrangement being finalised.

If a P&R site needs a road closure (as Carden Avenue would), a further "decision" is needed to approve a traffic regulation order. If an acceptable alternative site can be found that doesn't need a road closure, the seats can go ahead without a further "decision" by the Council - although it would be up to a Council officer to agree that the P&R arrangement was acceptable.

Dave the Gaffer seems to be saying that someone has given some sort of "NO" decision. As far as I am aware, that is simply not the case. The City Council's Environment Committee (which considers Traffic Regulation Orders) hasn't met in the last two weeks.

Lord B,

I thought the lap dog perry had already spoken about the seats way befor ethe start of the seaosn saying they WOULD be in place at the start of THIS current season so how the **** can anyone believe a word that spouts from him when he has already broken his word on the same subject?

FG

PS how is he gonna tactfully explain "eh supporters, these new seats well we kinda dont need them now, attendances are down and we may look into bring a deckchair for the Leeds Uniteds of this league but sorry noone wants to watch QPR"

I do believe so, the current away end will be made for home fans.

But it's not 2000 at the West end - I think it's only 1000 behind the West goal for away supporters.

Then there is a major extension/rebuild of the two stands at the East end, to add a further 1000 seats. And this requires moving the hospitality and players facilities to a new building at the West end of the ground, and the provision of additional turnstile facilities too.

So it's about 300 more for away fans, and 1700 for SEAGULLS :clap2: :ascarf: :clap2: :ascarf: :clap2: :ascarf: :clap2:

Which I guess means that the players entrance 'tunnel' will still end up next to the away fans - but at least they will be sandwiched between the two 'singing sections'.

It could add a lot to the atmosphere and be a lot of fun!!

FG - You seem to believe that Martin Perry is some sort of close relative to God. I don't.

It's not MP who has broken his word. It's Councillor Gill Mitchell, Chair of the City Council's Environment Committee, who has broken her word. She promised (last spring) that the City Council would do everything in its power to find a quick solution to the park & ride problem.

It now looks like they might have managed to find a slow solution, and that we'll hear more about this soon.
