Did we do the right thing in coming back to Brighton?

As much as it was a bit of pain to get to, at least Priestfield is a proper football ground, capable of generating a decent atmosphere - something Withdean will never be able to do.

Was the club too hasty in it's desperation to get back to Sussex at all costs? At least at Gillingham we had a purpose-built answer to our (hopefully temporary) problems.

Would it not have been better to carry on at our neighbours' until a permanent solution was found at home, instead of choosing the first half-cocked option that sprang to mind, meaning piss-poor facilities and dwindling crowds?

That is a good question Safeway, but sadly I think that we would have gone to the wall by now or become MKSeagulls, we had to get back to Brighton at all costs.

I really don't think playing at Pissfield would have prevented the crowds dwindling.... :)

What a stupid question. We must get 4 times as many supporters down here. ???

Eh?
We went from 2000 odd people per game making the trip to Gillingham to 6000 spectators and sell-out crowds virtually every week for the first 3 seasons at The Withdean.
We also went on to win 2 consecutive championships in our 2nd and 3rd seasons and then another promtion as well making Withdean (for the time we've been there) probably the most successful ground in the football league:jester:

Fair comment but when you look how many actually used to travel to Gillingham I doubt that we'd be any better off, we'd be worse off in truth. If we hit a run of form that we may be entering I can see the crowds returning. People don't want to shell out to watch a poor team.

The lads got a point as now we are back in Brighton so to speak give sthe nimbys more ammo and weakens our case as people are saying but they are back in Brighton whats the problem.

If we were getting the crowds at Gillingham then so much for our fan base.

What was the reason we never went to Crawley then? That would have solved all the problems. Purpose built ground that could produce an atmosphere 10 times as good as Withdean & within 20 minutes of Brighton so not too many excuses for not going.
