Yes, pointed to the corner - just as LuaLua ran up to take it he blew the whistle.

Now im not an expert on refereeing, but surely that isnt allowed as play hasnt restarted, sure after he kicked the ball and A) we scored or B) Reading cleared it - then the whistle can go, his decision might of even cost us the game as we might of scored. Didnt help as Dicker took forever with the free-kick.

Was Dicker, the ref was actually waving him to take it for a while, so thats Dickers fault.

Its not an official rule but refs very rarely give a corner then blow before its cleared/scored.

Never seen it at a match ive been to before - surely there are grounds for a complaint to the FA (sure it wont affect anything but its an awful call by the referee - god knows what would of happened if we had a penalty instead - Vokes runs up....and theirs the whistle before he kicks the ball).

Does anyone remember 78 world cup When brazil scored a header from a corner on the 90th min only for ref pat partridge ( I think ) to disallow it coz he blew the second the player took the corner comical stuff

Listened to commentary on 5 live sprts x and yes ref gave corner and then blew up. Lua lua was mad as hell apparently. The commentator and claridge were very critical of this and the refs game in general.
