Not a penalty. Leon did well to get to the ball but his first touch was not quite good enough and the ball hared off for a goal kick. What happened afterwards was incidental but there was some contact and therefore the ref should not have booked Leon.

And now it's cost him the chance to play against the team with the worst defensive record in the division = the best opportunuity to get back on the score sheet.

Dive or no, will this change his style so that he can lose the "diver" tag with the refs?

I have not seen it confirmed, but the bloke who gives me a lift is a former referee and he said that the booking was for kicking the ball away not for diving

Has conceding a goal kick to the opposition now become a BOOKING OFFENCE?

So if Leon kicked the ball out for a goal kick then it means the defender can't have made contact with the ball.

So the ref MUST have thought there was no contact on Knight. This I find almost impossible to believe!

I wouldn't mind the seeking the foul, if we were guaranteed a goal from the spot. The refs are wise to the dive, and the keepers are wise to the shimmy.

I'd just like Leon to put half as much effort into staying up and scoring in open play as he does looking for the penalty. He undoubtedly has the skill when he puts his mind to it, just like Bobby had.

Lot number 7. How much do I hear for the little fella...?
