The choices were either to stand up and trade blows with the pratt and get sent off as well, or go to ground after the initial assault. I am sure KM did exactly the right thing.

If he wanted to do it, he could press charges for an assault with actual bodily harm - but then most players might look poorly upon that against a 'fellow professional'. A sending off followed by a loss for his team is quite good
