My dad sold a Mark I new (was a Car Dealer) to a woman who subsequently got divorced and shut the car in the garage.

He bought it back off her in the 70s for the same price he sold it to her, and subsequently sold it on again in the 90s.

Mileage on the clock when he sold it for the secome time ?

1,485 miles and one careful lady owner.

I had a few MK3's and a MK4, my first car was a mini 850 which i drove to and from Cardiff every weekend but kept blowing the engine  so then i got my 1st mk3 a red 2.0GT which was awesome and i wouldnt mind still having this today but i thought it was a race car and wrapped it round a lamp post on lewes road by St.Peters church.
The MK4 was sold so i could buy myself out of the forces.

Mk I Cortina for me.

It cost £75 and, two weeks after buying it, it was crashed into by an uninsured driver of a taxi (the taxi owner's mate) who immediately coughed up £50 in cash to "cover any damage he'd caused". It ran perfectly OK for another two years. The only problem I had with it was the fact that Brighton police tended to take the view that driving a Mk I Cortina after dark was, in itself, clear evidence of criminal behaviour. I once got stopped THREE times on a single journey from Hove to Lewes.

I had a Mk3 Cortina with side pipes, big n little Wolfies and a deep button Draylon interior! Got caught on the back seat with my then GF by the boys in blue in Preston Park!
Other than that Ive had two MK1 Capris a Mk2 Capri and a Consul Capri circa 1962. :afro:

Pork pie land.
Yes, Mk1 re-sprayed white with a nice brighton blue stripe down the side/back GT style. Poxy thing cost me a fortune as it kept breaking when I thrashed it!
