And for that you can thank:

1: Norman Baker, De Vicci and her weasel like cronies with their spurious claims and tactics.
2. Falmer PC
3. Bellarcher for leaving us homeless in the first place
4. Greg Stanley for leaving us in the lurch to seek glory with Chelsea
5. Fat boy Prescott for failing to draft a letter properly.

We SHOULD have been in the new stadium by 2002/3 if the 'fans' of AONB (i.e. one old pond full of condoms and Aldi shopping trolleys) had not used every delaying tactic in the book, in the hope of the club going bust, and filbustered, procrastinated and appealed their way to delaying the new stadium by seven years.

DK has made some mistakes, but then so have we all in the last ten years. The board have put their hands in their pockets to the tune of about £10million, with no/little chance of recouping that money. We continue to lose about £10,000 a week, due to the ongoing costs of running Withers, poor facilities contributing to poor gates, and the consequential inability to attract players because we don't pay high wages. This is a vicious circle, and expect things to get worse before they improve.

I am aware that we differ greatly on our financial expectations regarding the Albion. However, if we are losing £10,000 per week, this equates to 800 seats @ £25 every other week.(not to mention additional merchandise sales etc etc). At the present time, we have an average of ? 3000-3500 empty seats at each home game. Most of this is the result of fans finally giving up at the lack of reasonable investment in this club, the shambolic situation re contracts last year, the fatal delay in getting an experienced manager when we were a rising club the first year in the Championship at Withdean.
There were also embarrassing delays in the first Enquiry, because we were simply "not ready"...! The list is endless.
Of course, the Directors have invested some money, (bit like getting blood out of a stone the last few years) but, is this costing anything...? I well remember that slime-bag Stanley, who "alledgedly" saved the club before with an investment that had huge penalties on repayment and an exhorbitant interest rate.
As regards Falmer PC, whatever would have happened if someone as powerful as De Vechhi would have stood in Arsenal,s way...? Heaven forbid...!

PS; I have been watching the Albion for a number of years now.( I think 43 or 44), why didn,t I receive my free "Dick Knight rose coloured spectacles" like so many others have.........!

Dick Knight is an absolute legend and the saviour of the club.

Yes, its a great shame he and his colleagues do not have even more money to sink into the Albion but he certainly doesn't deserve the criticism he gets from some.

Just look around at the many clubs on the verge and be thankfull. Although Millwall stuffed us today they have spent relatively huge sums on players over the last two years and are generally woefull, look where we are in relation to them.

Dick Knight has my backing 100%

Funny how we have one loss, and all the "wheels have come off the club, time to look at the books and burn Dick Knight" brigade all show up.

Originator of thread; 22nd post. Who are ya? Don't bother - it doesn't matter to me, anyway.

Is this the headless chicken thread?

No, it's the 'queue of mysterious Russian oil millionaires kept cooling their heels outside Dick Knight's door' thread.

I agree, the false dawn of a team that seemed to be stable and improving is also going to come to an end as players leave, either because their loans have expired and we can't afford to sign them, or because we need to sell others to survive.

I expect the mounting debts, falling crowds and now the disillusionment of players to result in a struggling team for the rest of the season and the problems to therefore multiply.

Falmer seems a million miles away as the club don't seem to have any sugar daddy on the horizon as they can't even afford to speculate (what would be a drop in the ocean given the current debt) to accumulate it seems.

Sad as things have definitley taken an upturn on the pitch so far this season and I naively hoped for a playoff place come the end of it.

Can't see the situation getting anything but worse with player discontent, especially as a loan player has seen fit to air grievances. DK will NOT back down rightly or wrongly, history assures us of this.

You've got to blame the fans, if the ground sold out for every game, the directors wouldn't have to pump so much cash in every week.

It's pretty gloomy in here isn't it!?!

Look, we've exceeded expectations this year mainly because of Forster, Richards and O'Callaghan. Come January only Forster going to be around and the secıond half of the season is going to be tough. The club is still hostage to its finances so let's look back on a good first half of the season and strap oursleves in for a harder second half.

I'm not sayingh 'Keep the faith' as it's been overdone but think what being a supporter means..... 'thick and thin'..... the coming months are nothing compared to what we've had to go through before.

Maybe DK will get lucky and the club will strike it rich in the FA Cup and/or the Piss Pot. DK obviously doesn't want promotion this season, and the team's nowhere near good enough in any case, so maybe he'll pull a rabbit out of the hat with one or more extended cup runs. Having an unsettled team won't help much in that direction tho.
