The BBC have loaded some 476 episodes of Desert Island Discs on a website available to download or just to listen to online.

Its not always as stuffy as its image, and I reckon there are plenty of episodes on there that the discerning NSC listener would enjoy.

I have no idea how I will find time to listen to all the ones I want to hear: Bob Monkhouse, Tony Adams, Frank Skinner, Ricky Gervais, Karren Brady, Humphrey Lyttleton, Michael Caine, Warren Mitchell, Sir Bobby Robson, Ian Rankin, Steve Coogan, Sir Norman Wisdom, our very own Des Lynam, Charlie Watts, Suggs, Brian May, Paul Weller, Jeremy Clarkson, and on and on and on

Just a minute is one of my favourite shows.

Agree. Just a Minute is the only radio programme that makes me laugh out loud when I am alone in the car. As someone once said, it appeals to the Lady who likes Nicolas Parsons and the Parson who likes knickerless ladies. And anyone else who ever listens.

Desert island discs is a great format. It's surprising how much some people reveal about themselves. I find some of the most interesting ones are the lesser known people, but the classical musicians featured are almost all incredibly boring.

Intro on one there has "for rights reasons, we've had to shorten the music".

The BBC casually ignore people distributing Essential Mixes with all the music, so there may be an option for someone to be casually ignored distributing unedited DID.
