More a “typical” Leeds fan.

Directly posted under the clubs celebratory tweet for securing another season in the PL.

Has the Argus gone behind a paywall for good now, does anybody know? All the links to Argus articles fade out after a couple of lines like the Telegraph and The Athletic. Was this something that they announced, or have they just suddenly decided to block non-subscribers?

Just clear your cookies. It gets confused and thinks you are a new reader.

I try not to read it too much though. It's not what it was for me and the comments section is an illustration of the devotees it attracts.

Surely the most insignificant club is one they didn't just tweet about

Is this the same Ben White who has let in less goals than Leeds?

They really are a special bunch

Still in Brighton
Tbf can't really argue with Leeds' final League standing and if he had played all season for them in the same position he had in the Championship then I'm pretty sure Southgate would pick him... He's had a good season for us but played quite a few roles rather than established one position as his own.

They probably have a point though. If White had been at Leeds, therefore finishing in the top half, he'd probably have been called up.

A year down the line, a decent mid table finish and they're still banging on about a loan player they had in the Championship :ffsparr:

Some of their fans are the dictionary definition of obsessed

He's been really good this year and should be a shoo-in, along with Dunk, for the England squad.
He is comfortably a better player than Kalvin Phillips and other English CB's such as Mings and Keane.
He'll only be considered if we're sitting pretty in the top half of the league.

That may be the case, but you'd hope Southgate might look at Brighton and think "ah ha....best defensive record in 2021 (bar Chelsea) - maybe Ben White [and Lewis Dunk] are the main reasons for that?" And it's not like we sit back and park the bus!

Lowest amount of wins outside the bottom 3.......with 2 of those wins coming against Leeds.

Completely agree. There is a rumour today that Ben may be getting a “surprise” selection in the England Euros squad, hope so, he deserves it along with Dunk.

It's a huge call if White gets in for a tournament having not been involved at all prior to that. Hope it doesn't impact him like it did Walcott (who I think could have been so much better without the unnecessary early pressure of going to the 2006 world cup).

True, but White comes across as an exceptionally calm guy. Plus, he's quite versatile. I'd be surprised, though, given he's not been picked to date.

Not the way he was skinned by Foden for City's second. Southgate will have taken one look at that and put a red line through his name, seeing as his whole reason for picking Dier instead of Dunk seems to be that Dunk was mugged off by one trick in training.
