Delays getting home

Thunder Bolt

Silly old bat
Left the concourse after a couple of drinks at 6.15, walked leisurely down to an empty station platform and onto a train. Why the rush to get home?

isn't it because the greens are digging the whole thing up to make it in to a cycle lane.....

Got a lot to do with putting a bus stop onto the carriageway that was previously in a lay by according to a mate, means every time a bus stops all the traffic backs up on the inside lane

2 hours to get from Brighton to Three Bridges, was supposed to take 45 mins on the direct bus, missed my connection train and have been forced to pay for a new ticket for the later train as I head back to North Wales, royally pissed.

Why do rail works on match days/Saturdays. I'm sure it used to be just Sundays.

Bastards. At least watching the game was worth it.

Work was planned 2 years in advance, I'd always errrr on the side of caution with advance tickets and football and always leave an hour between FT and getting a train.

Usual routine ... left my seat at the end of the game, walked straight into Dick's Bar, quick service, found seat in front of TV, pleasant conversation, watched the highlights of the game, walked down to Falmer station, straight on to platform, train to Lewes arrived 90 seconds later, found seat easily, more conversation, arrived at Lewes, five minutes walk to pick up car, straight home with no traffic congestion.
Just got home from the pub crispy duck left on the Gus bus two hour session in Savannah some stragglers just arriving back all going for a curry no way wife will kill me. Good game like to have got a replay never been to the arse new ground.

Sorry for not actually knowing how long ago the engineering work was planned...?

I actually did leave more or less an hour before I was suppose to do so. My plan drawn up by the train company was to actually get the bus at 17.55 but I opted to leave on the 90 minute mark and was on the bus that left Brighton at 17.05.

I'm not moaning too much, I enjoyed the game and its worth it but was meagrely saying that I'm having a horrible time getting home whilst you're all in your slippers watching the highlights.

I stayed till the end (to see Theo Walcott, obviously) and the queue for the trains to Brighton was halfway up the path leading out of the ground. We can't have been there for more than 20 minutes, which was good going, seeing as they must have got about 3 - 4 trains worth of people out in that time.

Also, the pies were AMAZING today. Just thought I'd share that.

Does anyone know if the 'P' bus is still running???? I waited at Portslade station but it never turned up, so had to jump on the first bus to Churchill Square and leg it up to the station to get to Falmer, only had time for one pint before the game!!!

Got the 6pm train to London vic. Took two hours to get to destination. Two hours back to Manchester. Will get thru the door at about 12.00 to watch the highlights. Still, will be a lot easier to get to Hillsborough next saturday than for most of you guys.
