Trialists Chance To Shine
By Paul Camillin

Trialists Zsombar Kerekes, Darren Currie and Alexis Nicholas have one last chance to show manager Mark McGhee they are worth a contract tomorrow afternoon at Cambridge.

The trio are currently nearing the end of trial periods, and McGhee is expected to take a decision on the three players after this weekend final first-team warm up.

McGhee is hopeful of completing a deal for 19-year-old Albert Jarrett before the weekend, and the left winger is included in the squad that travels to Cambridgeshire.

With more of a reserve team visiting Lewes on Tuesday, Saturday's match with Cambridge is likely to give the firmest indication yet of McGhee's plans ahead of the visit to the Madejski Stadium.

Squad: Roberts, Kuipers, Virgo, Cullip, Butters, Harding, Hinshelwood, Lee, Oatway, Jones, Hart, Molango, Mayo, Jarrett, Reid, Knight, Currie, Nicholas, Kerekes.

Kerekes looked a good target man to me at Crawley, but missed chances... we certainly need a target man, IMHO...

Liked Currie a lot when he played for Barnet, but not sure whether he is up to Championship standard... still, would like to see someone challenging Harty for the right wing spot (not David Lee)...

Know nothing about Nicolas...

So... would be chuffed if we picked up Jarrett, Kerekes and Currie... if Nicolas is good enough, sign him up too!... :)

I hate to say it but one of the men that impressed me when he came on at Southend was David Lee he played in a central midfioeld role but drifted out to the right and looked very impressive. Barrett came on and just sprinted at the defenders taking them all ways looked very good. I haven't seen Nicholas but Currie looked good at Weymouth but then again it was only Weymouth.

David Lee is playing very well of late. Didn't he get the assist at Weymouth?

Perhaps we may seea 'new' David Lee apparently Paul Rogers believes that he is the most skilful player at the club. Perhaps the threat or promise of a new contract in October may have stirred him up to produce the goods.

Absolute rubbish. Peter Ward scored more goals than Zamora in a season we didn't retire the No 8. We didnt retire the No 7 Gary Nelson. The shirts are only numbered to assist in identification.

i reckon we should retire number 30 as well, as iwelumo earnt us the penalty at cardiff, and when virgo goes retire 19, as he got us to cardiff. and when leon goes lets retire 7 as well, as he scores a lot of goals
