Dear John

I bought Mrs Red Star the 80's comedy Dear John as a stocking filler. Instead of wrapping it, i ended up watching the first series. I'd forgotten how funny it was, beautifully written, fantastic characters. An over looked classic.

It was certainly up there with Sorry in terms of BBC light entertainment.

I liked it and it was one of the few British comedies that they did reasonably well when they made it in the USA.

I absolutely loved it when it first came out and looked forward to re-watching it four years ago. Sadly, I don't think it's aged well.

Agreed , I loved it at the time, but seeing an episode recently, I just thought how drab and dated it looked.
