Thank you very much for your kindness and generosity in looking down on us so favourably. It could so easily have turned into devilish ratshit if, firstly, you had allowed Southampton to beat the Haddock worshippers. Secondly, in doing this, you have saved me from travelling on a train with hundreds of Saints fans (oh the irony, you being a God n’all!) to, your third kindly gesture, a home tie at the Temple of Bloom against the people of the fish and not the previously mentioned Saints.

I hope that Grimsby are rewarded with the winner of Sheff Utd vs Blackburn in the Semi at Wembley should they win. Of course, if they fail to beat us, I’m sure we’d do our best against either of those teams.
