Dear BBC,

Thanks ever so much for spending the money to get the cricket highlights back from channel 5 (who's coverage was exellent by the way), it's nice to see cricket back on the beeb. As a non Sky subscriber I was eagerly awaiting the highlights of the much anticipated ashes series. Well done for putting them on at such a sensible time. 11 o'clock at night on BBC2 is so convenient compared to the peak time slot that was allocated by 5. It also gives also gives you entire 12 hours to put the highlights together and lets those with sky switch straight from highlights of day 1 to the live coverage of day 2.
Congratulations on yet another brilliant piece of scheduling you utter utter utter utter utter bunch of twats.

The contract states they can't show highlights before 10pm.

Considering there is program called the 10 o'clock news, I think they've done quite well.

There's no Ten O'Clock News on BBC2?

Yes, but I'm sure they don't want it to clash.

Which, I guess, means they don't care about the Cricket Fans.

They're just asking the Cricket audience to go to sky!!

It's Sky that has said they cannot show highlights until 10.0pm. You can get it then if you have an interactive digital feed. Otherwise it's BBC 2 at 11.00

While we're having a go, what the hell are the radio lot up to? They DO have the ball-by-ball rights, and have put them on Five Live Extra, which many people listening at that time of night/morning won't have on their radio, especially if they're working or driving.

I was coming home late on Wednesday night listening to an absolute load of tosh on Five Live knowing they could have been broadcasting the Ashes live. And you only got the score every half an hour.

It might have been different during the day, there are other interest groups to consider. But overnight, with a small audience anyway, clear the schedules and put the live cricket on.

If this interferes with my goggle-eyed loyalty toward the new bowling breed of David Bryant wannabes and Tony Allcockalikes, i will become an explosively angry jack.
