So we have an anti-Wilkins man here.

I want to see direct passing and movement as well, don't get me wrong, we play a lot better along the floor rather then going out wide and trying to cross all the time! But I don't think we can blame Wilkins, we all know Brightons problems and he was to make do with what he's got.

Oh, okay, sorry about that.

But even when they do get the ball they aren't as effective whatsoever. In the brief mometns when tehy are allwoed to play their football.

What is it with some BHA fans who have a blinkered view of a player just because they've read something about his personality. To say Cox didn't get the ball past the first man suggests you weren't at the game or that you spent the whole time at the burger bar or not facing the pitch. I don't remember one corner that Cox took that didn't get past the first man. The only bad one was the quick corner he took to Reid. Another good thing about him is more often than not he plays with passion which can get him into trouble sometimes. However, rather see players like him and Harty than some of the other lightweights we have had.

Cox's corners left something to be desired ( most of them) if we're honest. They were either too hard or too soft (there was one that didn't beat the first man). I most definitely was there!

Cox was far better today than he has been, but he was still ineffective. He did put in some good crosses, he also put in some bad ones.

I do think he seems to have lost his edge when running with the ball. A couple of times yesterday I wished we had Nathan Jones running down that wing instead of him...

I find hilarious that, when all other aspects of Cox's game have been shorn to shreds yet he had stood up to a certain amount of scrutiny, people are moaning about what foot he crosses the ball in with. As long as it's a decent cross, does it really matter? And FWIW, a few left-foot crosses did come in today. I think Cox had an indifferent first-half, and a much better second-half.

One of Brighton's (and possibly English football's) problems is that - and this goes back YEARS - there is a reluctance for strikers to make a near-post run. How many crosses get past the defender immediately challenging the crosser of the ball, only for it to be cut out by the first defender at the near-post, or, worse still, the first defender in the middle of the area? For f*** sake, you lot - get across that defender at the near-post and give him something to think about.
