I heard that Blackwell was a month behind Jolly in rehab, but he was making good progress.

listen to yourselfs: as fans we're aways going on about player loyalty (or lack of it) but then want to get shot of someone as soon as they go on the long term injured list.

If we where to say goodbye, we'd have to payout the remained of the contract anyway wouldnt we?

Are you fully aware of the fact that the Albion paid Blackwell (Thanks Coppout) despite him holding out on signing a contract and then getting injured.

He owes this club BIG TIME because he was out of contract when he injured himself and the Albion could easily have said to him "You're getting on a bit, it's a serious injury, you dicked around hoping another club would come in for you with more money on offer but they didn't. Goodbye and Good Luck". What did we do? Shell out a year's salary on a player Coppout knew wouldn't recover for at least a year.:shootself :shootself

He contract was due to renew at the end of June and he got injured within a week.

Hardly holding out for another club, was it?

Danny Cullip was on the transfer list for 10 months (at his own request) before signing another contract. If he had got injured then he would have been paid. Nobody has said how disloyal he was to request a transfer.

The difference between DC and DB was that although on the transfer list DC was still under contract. DB was not his contract had expired, irrespective of for how long, try claiminmg on your car insurance for an accident that happened 1 hour after your policy expired, and he had not signed a new one. Again when stopped by a police officer try telling him you was going to do it .

On Paul Kitson he took a massive drop in wages to come to us in an attempt to restart his career after injury but unfortunately for us and him it failed we took the gamble and lost so did he.

think you will find that blackwell is not being paid a penny at the moment.

Probably because his one year deal has run out...

The simple fact is that the Albion paid him for one year when they didn't have to- despite him holding out on signing a new deal and then getting injured out of contract. He was looking for better offers to come in from other clubs when he got injured.

Even if he is only on 1,000 a week-it's 52,000 the club could have put to better use considering our current financial situation. Probability is that he's on at least double that!

WHAT? He didn't play for months and months and months. Then he was finally 'fit' and on the bench at Walsall and 'injured' himself again warming up before the match.
i will never ever forget that warm up at walsall it really was comical just when you thought he was back he got injured again without even kicking a ball

Blackwell... get rid... he is over the hill, injured, and won't make it back... we are not a charity and have paid his wages for no return whatsoever for long enough... time to cut our losses... if he has any decency, he would announce his retirement... we just can't afford to keep hanging on for a miracle recovery...

And, unfortunately, Rodger did NOT make it back onto the pitch at Worthing last night... I would still give him a little longer...

Daring to suggest that the club should get tough with a player (Blackwell) who thought he was bigger than us over a year ago is NOT mean-spirited IMHO...

We, of all clubs just can't afford to be sentimental about players if they're no use to the squad.

Central defence is our strong point so we wouldn't miss a fit Blackwell, let alone the one we've got.
