He seems to do that a lot. Very cynical player some times, who manges to get away with those sorts of challenges.
You could see his intention was to take out the player, with the ball long gone!
Does it mean because a yellow was given at the time that there can't be any future repercussions? I thought Reeve looked really wobbly, thankfully he seemed okay but wen't straight down the tunnel. There was no need for it, premeditated? I'm not sure - but defiantly worthy of a red card
At the time to be honest i did not think there was much contact and i presume the ref just saw it as a foul eg trip from his position , im sure the fa will look at the incident again and i hope Luiz cops a ban because it was dangerous to say the least .
First glance it looked like a yellow, but when you see it again you can see it was a lot worse than that - should have been a red. The young Brentford player looked dazed and confused after the challenge, i expect further punishment to be given for that.
As far as I'm aware, no further punishment can be given as the referee has taken action. If the ref simply gave it as a foul or didn't give it at all, then retrospective punishment can be given.
I saw what he was like when Chelsea came to the Amex in the summer and today along with other occasions during this season his actions have just reinforced my opinion that he is the dirtiest b@#%&*d in the English game at present. Rant over.
If the ref submits a report saying he booked him thinking it was just late/a trip, and would have sent him off if he'd seen how cynical and dangerous he was leading with the arm, then the FA can punish him further. Otherwise I think he gets away with it. It wasn't that dissimilar to the Thatcher/Pedro Mendes incident in the intent, just lucky the guy wasn't seriously hurt.
