David Lee - Player of the Season?

This time last year you'd have got long odds on Guy Butters winning it - but he surprised everybody (maybe even himself!) He knuckled down, lost weight, got fit, motivated himself (was he helped by being offered for sale for a fiver?) and played really well for most of the seasons. All credit to him.
Could David Lee do the same? MM seems to rate him, so presumably did whoever it ways that signed him (?Taylor) and he's scored lots for the reserves, and I've even seen a few reports on here that he's done OK in one or two of the pre-season games. I've only seen him play a couple of times and I have to say he hasn't impressed me, but maybe he's under-performed so far? Would be a real bonus if he came good.
If he does, you read it hear first (don't worry, I'll remind you!) If he doesn't I won't mention him again :D

He seems to be "well in" with the lads (Am I the only one who thought it was tad annoying the way that he was the first to reach Leon at the final whistle at Cardiff and was every bloody where during the celebrations, despite having done f**k all all season.) I presume that's why he keeps getting second, third, fourth and fifth chances.

I would love to think that we could kick him up the arse in some way, but his problem is that (unlike GB) he never has been good enough for Div 1. Not a lot you can do there.

To the tune of Winter Wonderland:

"There's Only One David Lee.
One David Lee.
You Used To Be Shite
But Now You're Alright
Walking In A Lee Wonderland"

he will be a star, mark my words

He's certainly a lot better than people give him credit for, a better passer than most of our squad. But he falls into the same trap as Piercy, doesn't really work that hard to get the ball back and perhaps seems to think he has that split second longer than he really has when on the ball. I wonder if either Peircy or Lee will be Brighton players by this time next year.

I would hope Piercy would stay, he has already shown he has the ability, I think he will do well this year. As for Lee, I can't see how he could play in our 4-4-2 system, as he is not a winger and is not defensive enough to play in the middle. As part of a 3-5-2, maybe
